Rocket Rage was a Communication and Multimedia Design (CMD) graduation project started by Rando Wiltschek. Since he was going to program the game, he needed designers to create models, graphics and sounds. Ruben van der Zee and Harm van der Ploeg then joined the project.

 

Rocket Rage is inspired by the game Rocket Jockey from 1996. Although Rocket Jockey was a good game in its own time, it now lacks proper graphics, backstory and multiplayer support. Therefore we focused on those three elements for our game and didn’t include a singleplayer mode with computer controlled players (AI).

 

We worked for five months on Rocket Rage, from september 2008 to februari 2009. When the project ended we continued working on it in our spare time. At the moment the game is still in an unfinished state, however, it can be played just for fun.
